WISHING WELL

OFFICIALLY 30

It's official! I'm already 30 years old and as usual I planned to have a different birthday celebration. It started when I turned 26. It was then when I had my ears pierced. Yup! when everybody else wanted to have pierced belly, tongue, nose or even clit, mine was the simplest and the most usual parts - ears. And mind you, I didn't just go to a shop and let their ear gun do the piercing, I really went to a professional and a pediatrician at that! Atleast I live up to my plan of having to do something different for my birthday.

When I turned 27, I went back to Palawan and had a blast! The best vacation so far. And it was an adventure too with my then new found friend who's my Baby now.I had so many firsts in this trip.First time to board a superferry with somebody I met a few months back, first time to jam with a band in one of the bars in Puerto Princesa, first time to set foot on El Nido commuting and here's the best part ... first time to get stranded and slept in a bus in going back to Puerto Princesa from El Nido and who was looking after me then? My Baby! How sweet! He was like a watchdog, he made sure that no one comes near me or even bothers me while sleeping. Oh well! how can you sleep soundly inside a bus in a nowhere land with people you don't know and I was the only female on the bus! The the list goes on ....

My 28th and 29th birthdays were both spent in the island of Puerto Galera. Not too different I must say. Now is the year when I will turn to the BIG 3-0. Days before my birthday I was planning of things to do on this very special day of mine. But in the end I thought, what the heck! this is what it's all about-surprises and sponteneity!

Received a call early in the morning from my Parents, I considered it a wake up call since it's 5:30 in the morning. They greeted me happy birthday then passed the phone to Ate Liza who greeted me as well. It's a tradition in our family that my Parents are the ones who'd greet us first plus the very famous misua with egg for breakfast. And since I'm the celebrant today I get two eggs, yippeee!

Thru out the day, friends texted me and greeted me happy birthday. My nephews and niece did the same. The best part of it all was when Kuya Dodgie texted me "HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHING". It was very much appreciated for I thought he might have forgotten (you know how guys are at times). Simple as it may seem I still keep the message in my inbox, as a matter of fact, his message for me last year is still in my other sim card. That's how much I value his messages for he really seldom talks to me or asks how I am unlike my other brother. Nevertheless, I love him just the same. He's one of my idols since I was young. I wanted to use his things because I find them cool and a privilege to be able to use them. He's an honor student since kinder til he graduated in college and I know I can't beat that... He's someone I really look up too!

I was planning to go to St. Claire but I decided to go to Montalban first to deliver the netphone my sister-in-law and I are planning to put up as a business. I arrived there past 4 and stayed for awhile. I was really happy I went there for I was able to play with Cymon who's 3 months old and his brother Mykel who's 7. I love being with babies, they make me feel like life is really simple and heavenly! I don't regret travelling from Manila to Rizal just to see them and be with Cymon, atleast I get to spend my day with my family.

It was already late and St. Claire's already closed so I planned just to head to greenbelt chapel to attend mass or if not atleast visit and give thanks. I wasn't able to make it to the last mass, when I got there, a charismatic group was singing and dancing so I sat and joined the group, listened to the preacher, prayed the rosary and gave thanks.I decided to stay until it's over and was glad I did.

The leader preached about courage and about courage I learned. It's not just important what's on your mind but how you put it into action. That's what matters most.

I've long been trying to live up to the principles and teachings of the faith. But as a normal human being, I'm also vulnerable. I know I was expecting and planning a different birthday this year and I know I had one,... I had a date with my Savior. He talked to me thru this group last night. I really can feel HIS presence, HE assured and comforted me. After all the dancing and singing, HE left a message thru this last song. Truly I am well taken cared of ......

I WILL BE HERE

Tomorrow mornin' if you wake up
And the sun does not appear
I...I will be here

If in the dark we lose sight of love
Hold my hand and have no fear
'Cause I...I will be here

I will be here...
When you feel like bein' quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will be here
When the laughter turns to cryin'
Through the winnin' and losin' and tryin'
We'll be together
'Cause I will be here

Tomorrow mornin' if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I...I'll be here

Just as sure as seasons are made for change
Our lifetimes are made for years
I...I will be here

I will be here....
You can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you

And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true
To the promise I have made
To you and to the
One who gave you to me

I...I will be here

And just as sure as seasons are made for change
Our lifetimes are made for years
'Cause I...
I will be here....
We'll be together

'Cause I will be here

When I got home, my Ate Chona and Miko sang me a birthday song afterwhich I blew my birthday candle. We had late dinner then Miko and I went to Malate to end my day with a bang! Oops! it's not what you think it is but a pleasant and a wholesome one. We watched my fave Barbie's Cradle strut their stuff and I definitely had a blast! We were so lucky our table was just next to theirs!

My 30th birthday celebration was heavenly and earthly blissful. This is just a beginning of a whole year round celebration and the party has just started .......

SURPRISE, SURPRISE

Short story ...

Early this morning while I was checking my mails and blog of my Baby I had the most pleasant surprise so far ... his blog is all about MOI! my picture was there tagged as " MY LIGHT " and the blog was entitled " FOR THE ONE WHO LED ME FROM DARKNESS "

My Baby , ... sooooo sweet! He sure knows how to make pleasant surprises and this is one of the reasons why I love him. I was really moved by the gesture. Simple as it may seem but I truly appreciate the effort. I know what he posted was a lyric of a song from U2 but the song said it all!

Thank you Baby and I say the same thing ... ALL I WANT IS YOU!

THE MEN IN MY LIFE

BUGS BUNNY & THE MEN IN MY LIFE

It's Father's Day and our family celebrated it together. On this day I also had my advance birthday celebration and our monthsary ( Miko and I have been together for exactly 2 years and 10 months now... and getting stronger and stronger each day I must say =D My Parents, Sister, nephew and niece came all the way from Lucena last Friday although our Ate Liza came just this morning. We were complete except for Kuya Milton who's residing in Canada. There were 2 specially guests who were able to make it to today's gathering-Auntie Zorayda ( who happens to visit the Philippines from Malaysia )and a good friend of mine, Raymond.I invited 3 more girl friends but unfortunately they didn't make it.

We had a feast of fresh seafoods at Dampa in Libis. Grilled, steamed, fried and the list goes on...you name 'em, we ordered 'em! and boy were they REALLY YUMMY! My father who's the biggest critic and seafood enthusiast didn't complain at all! Whenever I asked him about the food he would always gave me a nod and a thumbs up.

I'm really happy we celebrated Father's day today. This is the rare times we celebrate such event. Greeting Papa or Kuya Dodgie on Father's day is something we do not forget but getting together for such reason is really hard to do for all of us since we are scattered unlike before. One lives in Montalban, we live in Manila and the rest of the family are all in Lucena.

Kudos to the men in my family, men in my life. I have been blessed to be surrounded by men who takes fatherhood seriously. Kudos to Papa who has been the supportive, loving, caring, responsible father and good provider. He has imbibed in us the importance and value of education. We are grateful to you ( and Mama )for doing everything for us just so we can be sent to a private chinese school from kinder to high school and eventually to a reputable school for our tertiary education. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to be educated and have this privilege which you and Mama were not fortunate enough to have. This is one of the legacies you'll leave us. For me he is the epitome of a good person, friend, son and most of all a very good father. Having said that I think I don't have to expound some more.

For all the sacrifices and hardships you had to undergo just so we have everything we need, I only have two words for you " THANK YOU " .

Kudos to Kuya Dodgie too for I can see in him that he's living up to his name as Papa's Jr, though most of the time he's the serious version. I don't want to pass this opportunity to congratulate Kuya Milton as well. He may not have his own family yet but he's taking a father figure role whole heartedly to my nephews and niece. He's a better " father " than the real macoys I must say.I'm very sure when it's his time to have his own family, he'll be a good if not one of the best fathers there is.

To all the fathers in the world, HAPPY FATHER's DAY! Celebrate fatherhood, it's your right, TODAY is YOUR day!

ONE

TWO

THREE ... SMILE !

356 Days ago, these pictures were taken by a good friend of ours. This was the exact day I turned 29. Nine days to go and I'll be adding another year to my so called ' growing years '. I was blessed to have a fruitful year and am looking forward to bade it goodbye but I'm looking ahead to another blessing-filled year. Some people may question my description and might call me bluffing for I know it wasn't REALLY a rosy one if we're going to base it on the normal meaning of the word as per Webster. But still no matter what happend the past year, I consider them blessings in disguise for only during turbulent times you will truly know the character of a person and I thank GOD I was able to decipher peoples' intentions and actions before it's too late

Just want to share a thought which is part of a forwarded mail sent to me by a friend of mine. Here goes ...

" There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around."

Since my birthday is fast approaching I wonder what it's gonna be like this year? Hmmm ... I have no idea! All I know is that I LOVE SURPRISES ...

But ONLY the PLEASANT ones!

PeeK A BoO!

CELEBRATIONS

GET TOGETHER 2005

I came across this picture while browsing thru my pictures. This was taken last March 30 at The Rennaissance Hotel otherwise known as The New World Hotel in Makati. The rite was held at Nuestra Senora De Gracia located at Mandaluyong. The whole event is the most fun and organized wedding that I've attended so far. The reception was elegantly put up and the atmosphere is one that would make you feel that indeed this is a celebration of love and lifetime partnership. During the wedding as I looked at my friend and his bride, I saw in him that he's made the best decision yet by marrying her. She is his friend way back in high school and they really looked good together and have this kind of chemistry that you know they are meant for each other. One can really sense that the groom was really happy that he's married to the woman he had just exchanged marital vows with.Such attitude is very admirable for me since I seldom see a groom who's as showy on how he feels and as happy to get married as my Bai. I don't really know the bride but one thing is for sure, she'll be well taken cared of and I'm very happy and hopeful for this marriage.

Bai is my college friend and seeing and being with familiar faces again in the said event made me feel nostalgic. But as always there are things that never changed....and I guess this is how it'll always be.

Suddenly, I want to go back to the good ole college days. This is the time when I was able to expound and explore my horizons, experience what independence really means and be more confident in whatever action I take. Unlike in high school in a place where everybody knows everybody and when you're already typecasted as somebody you're really not, college gave me a venue where I can really be myself as well as an opportunity to improve my personality. There are a whole lot more memories in college that I can think of than in high school, however, my high school friends are really the ones for keeps. They're the group I grew up with and until now we still keep in touch. What we have is a lifetime friendship and we know we will always be there for each other ... whenever, wherever.

Looking back I was happy to attend the said wedding. It didn't only make me connect again to long lost college friends it also made me realize time flies really fast.I remember, lately and for the past years, I've been attending friend's weddings, visiting female friends who gave birth, baptismal, baby or bridal showers. These events made me analyze that the occassions you're attending coincides with the number of years your spending here on earth. I fear the day I'll be attending funerals, that would insinuate i'm getting OLD! oh well! that's one inevitable aspect of life which I have no qualms about.Age is a state of mind, people, just try to age with grace. Feel young and definitely you'll look young.Everyday you age and that's one reason to celebrate and speaking of celebration, Bai and Dimples will soon-to-be parents.Talking about honeymoon baby! I'm really happy for them .... WEE!!!!

When it rains, it pours ..... REALLY!

BNWT

Say what?! ... BNWT ... my latest fave letters. What am I talking about here? Well, this is all about my new addiction ... browsing eBay! It's been 3 days since I started being an eBuyer and loving it! The first time I searched for bags in this site and loved what I saw I immediately texted the seller and bought the items. 2 bags were bought from 1 seller. Had met up with the seller last Friday who apparently is a high school student in a posh school in Ortigas. Talking about privileged kids!

I'm not an impulsive buyer but the purchase was reasonable and the goods were necessities. I make sure whenever I buy an item the price is all worth it and this is true with my latest purchase online.

This kind of trade is new and somewhat scary to me considering internet fraud is proliferating nowadays. Reason why I'd rather met up with the seller is because I want to make sure that i'll get the items on the same day I gave my money to the seller. I'm not comfortable paying thru wire transfer or other modes of payment other than COD. Times are hard and I want to spend every penny I have fruitfully.

So what's BNWT anyways? it's acronym for Brand New With Tags. I was asking Miko what these letters meant when I first saw this online and he didn't know. When I found out the meaning of these letters, he's surprised and kept on kidding me how addictive I am now with eBay. Talking about being a fast learner here!

Hmmm...wait a minute! He's the one who introduced me to this kind of trade. Oh well! This adds up to the list of things we both love to do.

eBay offers a new meaning of shopping for me. This enables me to window shop without making my feet ache. It connects strangers and builds a new form of relationship. The process of bidding for an item is really fun and exciting. And lastly, buying something at a reasonable price from somebody who sells his/her old stuff not just adds value to the item but what makes it more unique is that it has history behind it.And if you're lucky enough, you may not just end up having the best seller in town but a new friend as well.

Just a reminder ... remember to look for BNWT and you'll never go wrong!

Happy bidding and enjoy shopping!
