PETER PAN

YES! The magic is here! And true to their ads, "To fly would be an awfully big adventure!" and I was truly blown away by the immense greatness of this production.

This is the 2nd time I watched an international musical production. The first one was " They're playing our song" with of course no other than Ms. Lea Salonga but that was ages ago. So when I learned that the production of Peter Pan is here, I asked the assistance of my colleague to purchase a ticket for me since he can get a discount due to his being a post paid cellphone subscriber ( the cellphone company is one of the sponsors that's why).

I was so excited to watch it and when the curtains went up and the ensemble started to sing, tears welled up my eyes. I know it may sound that I was over reacting but I guess the feeling of wanting to perform again on stage came rushing down on me knowing it was also my dream to be part of a major musical production. I used to be part of a theatre group in high school and college and I auditioned for the Dutch production of Miss Saigon in the '90s ( passed the first screening) and also the local production of Rent but I was not fortunate to be a part of the ensemble,... guess it's not really my calling. I will just then settle for my singing career at the shower or in my room when I'm in the mood he! he! he!

Anyways, the production was great! The visual effects were fantastic! The actors were ALL good! I was really awed by the whole production and I'm planning to watch it again if my time and budget allow it.

I really can't forget the last part when Peter Pan was already saying his goodbyes then he started to fly towards the audience with the help of the harness wrapped around his body and then he sprinkled magic dust! IT WAS MAGICAL! Words can't describe how I felt that time. Magical is an understatement.Watching it is really an EXPERIENCE worth remembering.

I'm way past the age of cartoon watching but when I watched the show, it made me feel like I was a kid again. It was THAT appealing! So imagine if a kid watch it, the appreciation would be ten-fold!

After the show, I bought the souvenir programme and lined up with the other kids to have it signed by the actors. They only allowed 3 actors in the autograph signing but atleast there's Wendy. The other two were the kid who played Sam (one of the Lost Boys) and 1 Pirate who's a Filipino and a member of the famous Streetboys, a local dance group.

I was supposed to wait for the whole cast at the back of the theatre (at the exit gate) but I only saw them coming out when I was already inside the cab! Yikes! I missed my chance =(

Indeed, this is a musical worth watching and most importantly, worth remembering. It should not have been entitled "PETER PAN The Smash Hit Musical" but "PETER PAN, THE MAGICAL!"

............. "ALL CHILDREN GROW UP EXCEPT 1! and that's PETER PAN!"
